چکیده

In the present study, we characterized species of bacteria and fungi across a frog community in seasonal tropical environment Natural Protected Area (NPA) Las Musas, Guanajuato, Mexico, using morphological biochemical protocols. Our three main objectives were to: i) identify microorganisms community, ii) determine microorganism prevalence how it changes throughout year, iii) detect diseases injuries caused by pathogens (bacteria fungi). Across 150 anurans analyzed, seven especies (Anaxyrus compactilis, Incilius occidentalis, Dryophytes arenicolor, D. eximius, Hypopachus variolosus, Lithobates neovolcanicus y Spea multiplicata) hosted at least four genera pathogenic (Penicillium, Rhizopus, Aspergillus Batrachochytrium) two (Aeromonas hydrophila Pseudomonas sp.). We found positive cases was higher autumn (0.51) than summer (0.125). Lesions such as peeling skin on belly swelling extremities (red leg) observed species. This study confirms presence bacterial fungal agents this serves precedent for future work monitoring state amphibian population health Guanajuato. It also provides support implementation conservation strategies group vertebrates.

Seasonal changes of leaf area index (LAI) in a tropical deciduous forest in west Mexico

Light canopy transmittance and the Beer-Lambert equation were utilized to assess monthly leaf area index (LAI) of a tropical deciduous forest ecosystem on the west coast of Mexico. The light transmittance coefficient (k) was obtained by analyzing vertical leaf and light distribution in the forest canopy. An independent LAI estimate was obtained using litterfall data. The calculated k value was ...
